A lunitic! (ie the first one.)
Maybe he has a gift for making ludicrious, bad plans seem simple and logical. His initiative does, on the surface, appear to be a good plan to reign in expenses.
But to lock WA state into the constrictions of the current budget (one of our smallest in years) gauruntees that we won't be able to rebuild crucial transition housing, education and hunger programs which have been cut left and right this year, as it's the only way for WA state not to go broke like CA.

I can't believe this pro 90210 crowd! Gossip Girl is a delcious, delicious show there is! It's none stop Josh Schwartz amazingness.
Two words. Da-roda. Who doesn't love a star who has her own french maid? Now that they're edging off the Serena, it's better than ever.

But the first cut is the deepest. I think series 1 is going to be the best from all the seasons because it was, quite simply, the freshest thing I'd ever seen. It was new and exciting, we don't expect anything from it and it doesn't need to provide us with answers like someone above mentioned.
Also season 2 is my favorite because of the hatch storyline, the tailies meeting the losties etc.
If you're like me, you are constantly searching for 'meaning' within the lanes of the information super-highway.
Facebook is probably the place where I connect with the most people (as opposed to real life. Who does that anymore?)
Do you have 'meaningful' (meaningful defined any way you choose) conversations on Facebook? Lame ones? Surface ones? What would you change about FB to reach that higher philosophical plane?

posted about 11 months agoEh....so much violence! Let's not conflate violence with actual physical energy. Like the LA Times said, IB is somehow bloody -and- bloodless. Add that to a bunch of not-entirely-cohesive stor chapaters -- all of which fail to hang together as a feature, and you have a not-so-fun and -oh- offensive! - flick.

Pulp Fiction is the default; like loving clean-cut Beatles over later, dishevled Sargeant Pepper Beatles. Pulp was a huge commercial success. Not a bad thing, but still, I am still very endeared to his cult classics.
posted about 11 months agoThere's a great roundup of opinions at greenstockcentral. And the survey says....reactions are mixed. Helpful, huh?
Basically, the theory it is positiing (LA to Las Vegas on $3???) is an amazing one. But the question is whether that's actually true, and whether people can afford or will want to buy the car. Link to whole article here:http://greenstockscentral.com/a-roundup-of-reactions-to-the-chevy-volt-2-2090.html
But GM is absolutely right, though -- IF the volt is -what is says it is- than it will definitely change the way people think about driving, and possibly even help the recession.
posted about 11 months ago@anonymous -- very interesting about the blueberries! I didn't think the cans could withstand a freezer. That's an awesome idea!

posted about 11 months agoI actually am a bit disappointed with my local grocery stores.
When you walk in, they have a little sign reminding you to 'bring your own bags!' But at the register -- in addition to the fact that no one really seems to be actually bringing bags from homes -- they don't remind you how much you could have saved by not using paper or plastic. People need to be constantly reminded of the tax being imposed on them, I think, for this to work.
posted about 11 months agoI agree that Angelina has 'political heft' -- but when it comes down the the wire, TRUST ME, people will care less about her huminatarian stuff than they do her 'relationship' with her brother. I mean, Madonna also engages in extensive charity work, but when it comes time for her to adopt an African child, the courts are less than receptive. I think she'd be eaten alive by the political press.
