Gossip Girl!

Gossip Girl!

Gossip Girl, Gossip Girl!

Okay, first of all, the idea of recycling an old show is just plain lame. It didn't work with Saved by the Bell: the New Class, and it doesn't work now.

Also, is there anything funnier than the new tagline for the new Melrose Place? ("Never has apartment living been so....complex.")

Gossip Girl is fresh and awesome and funny.

The hype is for real, guys...

I myself am intrigued....

Rumored to be returning is the guy who played the pilot of the doomed Oceanic flight 815.

Also rumoured to be returning is Maggie Grace (Shannon), who was killed off season 2. Emilie De Ravin, who played Claire, is getting back -- as is Juliet.

It'll be a longer 18 episodes this season......first episode: "LA X." Whadayathink??

First of all:

News feeds are a -disaster.-

Honestly, each person's wall is a -mess-. There is no way to assign any pattern or 'story' or any sense of coherence to a wall. Honestly, I can't even figure out what's going on on my own wall!

Very interesting question!

I think that Facebook should make an effort to publicize the conversations they already have going.

It was only by accident (through the wall of a friend) that I found out that they already '-have- discussion boards! And about everything!  The environment! Sports! TV shows! The whole thing.  Why is it that I know everyone's birthday by heart but don't know that I can chat with people who have similar interests?

I'm interested to know if you think that Terintino is 'held back' by his early success with PF.  Everything said about him eventually uses the film as a reference point....did he 'meet the standards' of Pulp Fiction? Or is the question itself a trial for Terintino?

Great idea about the cheesecake! Starbucks sometimes does have some 'fragile' perishable delicious goods -- why not cheesecake? I'm thinking more about the Seattle-area cherry lattices which were so popular.

@anonymous -- absolutely. It's cute for people to say that Starbucks is "$4" (fivebucks, hahahaha...?) but the fact is that coffee, just plain coffee, is upwards of 2 something. If you get the extras, the vanilla soy etc, and start with a drink that takes more labor and 'crafting,' than yeah, it's going to cost more. But don't say that you can't go in and get a cheaper cup of plain coffee.

I'd also like to pose the question: where can you get a true designer drink for cheaper?

What is with the hype? It's -astounding.- I thought I was crazy until I saw on CNET that they were thinking the exact same thing:http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10895_7-6760851-1.html

Oooh, ooh, ooh!

Definitely, definitely improve drink quality!

But that's still a pretty broad statement. A former Starbucks Barista myself, I've gotta say: there is pahhh-lenty to improve vis a vis drink quality. I mean, depending on how much of a 'purist' you are, that could mean anything from having more sugar free syrups to banning the frappuccino!

If I had to choose ONE thing to improve at Starbucks in terms of drink quality, it would definitely be the SHOTS.  Let's go old school -- make the baristas pull some real, live, non-automatic long-pull shots.  And the drinks would be SO MUCH BETTER.

@Tweetthis, that is beyond genius.

I myself like to use them as plant-holders.  I know they're tall, but if you fill them with dirt it lowers the center of gravity and makes for a nice, long 'roots' holder.  Paint it a pretty color and there you go!

Post to SparkWord green collar jobs

Excellent point, ms. snark!

It is -extremely- significant that the Defense Department is looking into the Green Collar industry.

Here's a link to an article from Homeland1.com -- an industry website, which says A 2008 National Intelligence Assessment concluded that climate change will affect the United States directly and cause the existing problems of poverty, environmental degradation and ineffective leadership in other countries to worsen."

They want to save money and fuel by looking into Green Energy now -- but it definitely behooves them to position themselves as green-friendly in the coming years.

Post to SparkWord plastic bag tax

Seriously -- just imagine how much plastic we would save if people didn't have to take home a plastic bag EVERY SINGLE TIME they went to the store -- which is extremely often -- and then, if that weren't bad enough, promptly dispose of the bag via the garbage. At least paper is recyclable. But both are wasteful.

I love that Bill Clinton said retrofitting homes was the "least sexy" option for green jobs, but he's absolutely right -- it's the best way to cut down on carbon emmissions and save precious energy.

Seriously -- didn't Schwarzennager prove to the world what happens when you put a strapping devastatingly handsome Hollywood celebrity in office? They run the state into the ground.

Being a philanthropist is great, but my God. Angelina as first lady? No way.
