Why would the governor just disappear for almost a week?

Post to SparkWord Metro train crash

Why does it take fatalities to get people to act and do the right thing? I wonder if the accident is now reason enough for Metro to find the money to complete the costly repairs, or at least add the black boxes to the older trains. Maybe.... or maybe not.

Post to SparkWord Perez Hilton

As long as Perez writes his blog, he's going to say whatever he feels like saying, so http://will.i.am was just wasting his time. If he was annoyed by his comments before, he certainly won't like what he has to say now!

Post to SparkWord American cars

I'm an American who drives a foreign car, and I can't say that I'll be supporting the U.S. auto industry anytime soon.  Yes, I know I'm contributing to the decline of the industry, but my personal safety is still top priority. If Ford, GM and Chrysler improve their quality by, say 50 or 60 percent, then maybe I'll consider other options.

Post to SparkWord Grey's Anatomy

This show has definitely had its share of drama, on and off-screen, and now one of the two biggest cliffhangers from the season finale has been resolved, with T. R. Knight confirming that he is no longer part of the cast (for those who don't watch, both his character and Heigel's character were on the brink of death at the end of the finale). So it looks like George won't survive the bus accident. Will Grey's never be the same without him?

Post to SparkWord The Sunnygram

The Sunnygram seems to make sense, but people who aren't familiar with or don't like e-mail probably aren't going to want to pay or use a $120 fax machine or $150 server.

Post to SparkWord Background Checks

If you plan to work for the city of Bozeman, Montana, be prepared to disclose to your boss all passwords to your Facebook, YouTube, Myspace, and Yahoo accounts, to name a few. How crazy is that? "...we do those types of investigations to make sure the people that we hire have the highest moral character and are a good fit for the City," Sullivan said.

Talk about violation of privacy!

Post to SparkWord FAA and DOT

If the FAA has delayed implementing proposed safety recommendations for years and years already, I doubt a lawsuit will be that effective in forcing them to act. It's just going to require more time, energy and money on both sides, all of which could be put towards the actual testing and changes.

Post to SparkWord George Bush

The former president made no attempt to hide his disdain for the Obama administration's policies, during a speech to business leaders yesterday where he criticized healthcare nationalization, the economy and the closing of Guantanamo Bay.  http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com  Some quotes:

"I worry about encouraging the government to replace the private sector when it comes to providing insurance for healthcare."

"I know it's going to be the private sector that leads this country out of the current economic times we're in."

"Therapy isn't going to cause terrorists to change their mind."

Funny, it was just a week or so ago when Laura Bush appeared on Good Morning America, stating that Bush 'feels like as a former president that he owes President Obama his silence on issues, and that there's no reason to second guess any decisions that he makes.'"

Post to SparkWord Supersonic Travel

Who wouldn't want to fly to Europe in 2-3 hours instead of 8-10 hours? By the tme supersonic jets are ready to be flown, the economy should be much stronger and I bet it will be a popular mode of transportation, at least within the business world.

Post to SparkWord Unemployment

The story also says that the average number of claims in the last four weeks has fallen for the first time in four months. As far as I'm concerned, any decline is a good sign. It may be too soon to say whether the economy has stabilized, but at least we're moving in the right direction.

Post to SparkWord John Edwards

I'm sorry, but I find it hard to trust a guy who tries so hard to relate to the average working-class struggling citizen, and then turns around and lies to the public and his supporters. The affair may have been a personal matter, but once it was leaked to the public, he should have taken the mature road and responded in an honest manner. When will politicians learn that the truth will always come out?
