RIM has sold more that 50 million devices and WinMo has sold many times more phones that Apple. Going by the raw numbers, the iPhone doesn't actually match up.

HTC is one small cog in the overall scheme. Echoing previous my previous post, even if HTC "gets it", that may not be enough. You have to have the whole vertical stack from hardware to OS to development tools to app store to developer community to sales outlets to market buzz and more. HTC makes great hardware and that's where they end. So, they cannot create the "killer package".

It's really not all about marketing. It's not all about any one thing, it is about everything. It sounds very "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance", but I think it is true. Apple seems to understand that and no one else does. At least, no one else gets it AND has the resources to make it a reality.

Randy Jackson is completely useless on the show. But, Paula has her moments of greatness. And, @David, it is interesting the way you put it that Simon is the only judge who "cares enough about the contestants". Sometimes it takes a jerk to wake people out of their bubble.

Yeah, @lafehubert, you're right. But after watching the video and reading everyone else's posts, I kind forgot about that. :)

AdSense is showing me an add for Walden University. Which keyword did they buy? "etiquette", "first"? Funny...
