As we all know by now, there is a new Star Trek movie coming out for the summer movie season.  Do you think it will be a big hit or just another movie?

Probably a hit.  It's JJ Abrams, he's pretty good at what he does.  He doesn't really have much to live up to with the general public, either, because most Star Trek is bad anyway.

Its going to be a hit. It looks slick and modern, finally a Star Trek movie for the 21st century.

Star Trek is going to be a huge hit.  I'm totally a fan and love the cast.

Ah but it is an odd number in the series, will it break the curse and be a hit.

Shatner is not directing so it stands a better chance. Hopefully with a new perspective and proper handling the movie will be good and it will do well.

I would like to a see a good Star Trek movie. Wrath of Kahn was the last one that I really liked.

It has the name "Star Trek", but should it even be compared with anything that has come before? Sure, there are names that you all know and love; Kirk, Spock, etc. But, it is really a brand new movie with little need to maintain a connection to its predecessor. It is reall up to JJ Abrams to screw it up. It has a lot of potential and there is no inherent reason it can't be a great film.

I am looking forward to the new Star Trek in May.  I think it will be interesting to see how the new cast will fill in.

Reboots are all the rage now.  I guess Star Trek isn't a sacred cow.

In any case, it looks like it will be fun to watch.  And, the Sylar guy looks like he was born to play Spock.

I just saw the Star Trek trailer for the first time last night and it looks hot.  I believe this is going to be a hit.  Now, I'm excited about the movie.

I'm well aware of the hit or miss pattern of all star trek films.  The trailer looks interesting, but trailers say almost nothing about the merit of a film.  Nonetheless, as a trekkie, I will be there opening night (if the ONE theater in my town here in Spain will play it...) to drool over Zachary Quinto and the CGI, and then bitch about how I would've preferred to not see it dubbed in spanish.
