I love my 2009 Yaris! It zips through traffic very well and it's a Toyota, so it'll last forever.

Toyota has long cultivated a reputation for quality and reliability.  There is nothing sexy about Toyota brands, but in a world of crushed American car companies, there are few affordable brands left standing that one can trust.  Toyota has also built a reputation for innovation that other manufacturers have yet to touch.

All Toyota needs to do is build a bit more sex into its cars and its branding at they will be the kings of the road.

as far as new cars and lasting forever im doubtfull but and toyota before about 1995 should last at least 250,000 miles with normal maintenance. ive seen them make it that far being abused and with minimal maintenance. i have a 1987 chevy nova that came factory with a 1.6l toyota motor that has 215,000 on it right now and it runs like a champ, starts -30F no problem. plus around 36mpg.

We own a 2001 Echo and 2004 Prius, both purchased new - Toyota has become a member of our family. We have driven Toyotas throughout our 30 years of marriage. We believe in Toyotas quality and their commitment to bringing alternative vehicles that last to market.

Thanks Toyota. Thanks for ruining our economy. When people buy priuses or other stupid toyotas (dont even get me started on how shitty the prius is), they are hurting our economy. They are giving money to a foreign company, when Americans auto workers are losing jobs left and right. WHen you buy a toyota, you are helping putting GM and Chrysler and Ford out of Buisness. You are giving Japanise more money, instead of giving the money to help AMerica. When you don't buy american cars, you are putting the Big Three out of sales. Less cars are made, and autoworkers lose their jobs. These companies stocks go down, and then other stocks go down too. When other people's stocks go down, people and companies lose money. The auto industry has more effect on our economy then other people realize, and this is a major reason why we are in a recession. So thanks for losing american's jobs and retirement funds, Toyota. Go make more priuses.
