Definitely up there, but I have other faves.

For me, Pulp Fiction still takes the cake on this one. Seeing Basterds was definitely money well spent, but Tarantino seemed to pull from his same ol' bag of tricks: the female-revenge quest and endless dialogue about film culture. Not as funny as Pulp Fiction or Resevoir Dogs, IMHO.

Pulp Fiction takes the winner's circle and i think it will remain the champion out of all films for ever

I loved the writing in this movie as much as i loved the writing in pulp fiction and kill bill, where dialogue could keep going and i never got bored. perfect example was the 15/18 minute scene in the beginning of the movie with Hans and the  french guy. never got bored of the really long scene. what i liked more was the era it was set it, i love WW2 era movies especially alternate reality films. It wasnt as funny as pulp fiction but some things i didnt like about pulp fiction was it was a bit too many things going on at once for me to care about at times, but with the basterds and shosanna i never wanted it to switch to the other protagonists due to boredom with the latter. typical tarantino everybody gets shot up in the bar, everyone got shot up in the theater, i loved it. i dont know if i can call it his best yet but i cant say ones better really. i extremely agree with tarantinos own opinion of Hans Landa being his best character yet. loved the movie.

Pulp Fiction is my all time favorite. But Bastards takes a very close second!

You can definitely tell that he has developed as a writer as well as a director. He went to terrible lengths to make sure he got the foreign dialouge correct and it didn't have the annoying quality of some American war films where 'We're going to speak in English but please pretend it's German'.

His directing was far above what I was expecting. You compare his camera angle choices to say, Pulp Fiction, and the later seems elementary. Kudos to you, Mr. Tarantino for maturing as much as you have.

My mind was blown. And the ending is fantastic, who cares if the man're-wrote' history? Tarantino should take that statement as a compliment because it is proof that this film has had an impact on society.

Yes, Pulp Fiction IS a classic in American films and is loved by many, but the Basterds will surely go into the 'Classics' category right next to it.

LOL several times, lots of blood, but there was a purpose in the script for it.  Hated Pitt's wad in the mouth which made him very difficult to understand, but otherwise a film I would see again. I have seen many and would count on 1 hand those I would watch again.  Hated Pulp Fiction, blood & guts for blood & guts sake.

I love everything Quentin does, but Basterds was a little lacking for me. I had very high expectations for the film and I just wasn't quite satisfied. I did love the action in the ending and would have enjoyed seeing a bit more of it. I thought Brad Pitt gave an outstanding performance. There were other characters that I felt needed more development. Loved Hans Landa!

"Inglourious Basterds" did not break new ground as did "Pulp Fiction", but for sheer entertainment, a good yarn, and excellent performances this was a great film.   Christopher Waltz (?) /Hans Landa - masterfully developed character acted to perfection -- deserves an oscar nomintion at the very least.

I'm not a big fan of Brad Pitt, except when he does comedy.  He has great comedic timing!
